BIOGRAPHY

    Born in South Korea, Yedam began studying piano at the age of six and was admitted to the Yewon Art School and the Korea National University of Arts (preparatory school), where she studied with Eun-Ock Kim and Hae-Jeon Lee.

 

    In 2002, she moved to France to continue her musical education. She studied with Billy Eidi at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris (CRR de Paris) before joining the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), where she studied under Henri Barda and Bruno Rigutto, earning her Master’s degree in 2010. She then pursued postgraduate studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Jacques Rouvier. In 2015, she was unanimously awarded the Concertiste Diploma from the École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot, studying under Henri Barda. She also benefited from the invaluable guidance of Rena Shereshevskaya at the CRR de Rueil-Malmaison.

 

 

    With a deep passion for collaborating with opera singers, she was selected in 2016 to participate in the Riccardo Muti Academy for Verdi’s La Traviata. In 2019, she obtained her Master’s degree in Collaborative piano with highest distinction under Erika Guiomar at the CNSMDP. Since then, she has participated to the prestigious Merola Program at San Francisco Opera in 2024 for Mozart’s Don Giovanni and has worked as a collaborative pianist at the Opéra National de Paris on Donizetti’s La Fille du Régiment. Yedam works regularly with various productions of the Orchestre National de France and Les Musiciens du Louvre under the direction of Marc Minkowski...

 

 

    As a solo pianist, Yedam has won several prizes in international competitions. She was awarded 4th prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition (USA) in 2021 and 2nd prize at the Gurwitz International Piano Competition in San Antonio (USA) in 2020. Her other distinctions include 2nd prize and the Audience Award at the Épinal International Piano Competition, 2nd prize at the Porto International Piano Competition (Portugal), 1st prize at the Campillos International Piano Competition (Spain), 6th prize and a special award at the Seoul International Piano Competition (South Korea), and 2nd prize at the Ekaterinburg International Piano Competition (Russia).

In 2013, she was a semi-finalist at the Queen Elisabeth International Competition in Brussels (Belgium). She has received scholarships from the Fondation de France, Banque Populaire-Natixis, ADAMI, Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe, Fondation Meyer, and Oriolis.

 

 

    Yedam performs regularly in concert. As a soloist, she has appeared with the Seoul Symphony Orchestra, CRR de Paris Orchestra, Bel’Arte Orchestra, Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia, Orchestre National de Lorraine, Orquestra Filarmonica Portuguesa, San Antonio Symphony Orchestra, and The Cleveland Orchestra.

 

She has also given solo and chamber music recitals throughout France and Europe, performing at renowned festivals such as the Chopin Festival in Paris (Salle Pleyel, Parc de Bagatelle), Young Euro Classic in Berlin (Konzerthaus), Piano en Valois Festival in Angoulême, Chopin Festival in Nohant, Piano en Saintonge Festival, Orphéo Prizewinner Series in the Netherlands, Pianoscope Festival in Beauvais, Jeunes Talents Festival, Musicales de Bagatelle, Academia Santander in Spain, Piano Classique Festival in Biarritz, Les Automnales du Palais Impérial de Compiègne, as well as at the Musée des Armées and Maison de la Radio for Gaëlle Le Gallic’s program Les Jeunes Interprètes. She also performs regularly at Salle Cortot as part of the Centre de Musique de Chambre de Paris.
